In addition to practical conservation volunteer days, we will also be continuing to control invasive species on the river banks and to survey invertebrates as part of the ARMI Riverfly Monitoring Scheme, both of which we need volunteers to help with. To enable volunteers to get involved in either of these, we will be running several volunteer training days in the coming months. For the riverfly monitoring we will be organising one-day identification and surveying workshops to equip volunteers with the knowledge and skills to be able to survey invertebrates in the river. If you would prefer to get involved with invasive species control, there will be an opportunity later in the year to attend a 3-day training course in the use of knapsack sprayers and pesticides near water. Dates for training are still to be confirmed but if you are interested in taking part in any upcoming training or volunteering with the RiverLife project email Lorna, our Volunteer Coordinator at
