Volunteering at Killandean

Volunteers have been making a huge difference to paths and steps around the Killandean Greenway making access around the site easier for everyone. We have had 4 days out in the last few weeks, all with wonderful volunteers getting stuck in and helping to make improvements to the area.

Two main tasks we managed to get through were repairing two sets of steps. This took some hard work, replacing old decaying timber, moving materials around, filling in each step by hand and cutting back any overgrown vegetation but it was hard work that was worth the effort as the steps have been transformed!

Other activities that volunteers have been getting involved with at Killandean include clearing paths (including a very muddy section of path towards the west end of the Greenway) and cutting back vegetation – making the paths around Killandean easier to access and make use of.

Another massive thank you to our volunteers!!
